At Friends Montessori Nursery we aim to provide high quality childcare enabling parents and carers to focus on other responsibilities. They can do this confident that their children are happy and safe in a home from home atmosphere.

We are situated in the heart of the historic village of Shere, one of the most beautiful and photographed villages in England. We have a private all weather garden and access to a park, recreation ground and the village stream where the children feed the ducks. The nursery caters for babies, toddlers and pre-school. Babies have their own room with a maximum of 12, toddler groups are no larger than 16 and preschool no bigger than 24. This ensures a home from home environment in all the nurseries rooms. Government funding is available for 3 and 4 year olds.

These are formative years for your child and the nurseries aim is to stimulate an interest and respect for other people. We prepare your child morally, socially, physically and intellectually so that they have a sound foundation for school life and beyond. The nurseries goal is to help your child develop an appetite for life and an energetic curiosity for knowledge, whether in baby room, toddler group or attending pre-school.

We employ experienced, mature well-qualified staff that are responsible, conscientious, intelligent and fun loving. Most of the staff has had children and several have their own in our nursery. The nursery is a small family run company with the owners Lesley Friend and her husband John involved in your child’s welfare.

We cook all lunches in the nursery from scratch using organic fruit, vegetables and milk and free-range chicken and eggs. Our menu is low on salt, sugar and saturated fats and high in vitamins and fibre.
