Torwood House School was established in 1915 and was at that time in Howard Road, Redland. It was originally run by two ladies as a Dame School.

In 1942 the School was purchased by Mrs Doris Green who moved the School to its present site in Durdham Park. Mrs Packer purchased Torwood House School in 1996. The school maintains its reputation of being a leading educational establishment within the local independent sector.

In 1997 the purchase of 27 Durdham Park returned the School to its original size and enabled us to open our large and self-contained 50 place baby unit, Torwood Lodge Nursery.

Further expansion took place during 1999 with the purchase of No.8 Durdham Park. This additional building, located approximately 200 yards along the road, houses our Year 2 and Key Stage 2 classes.

In 2002 Mrs Dionne Seagrove was appointed as Head

Torwood Lodge Nursery, together with Torwood House School, provides continuous care and education for children aged between nought and eleven years during term time and throughout the year.
