| Handcrafted Glass Jewellery by Sarah Hill offer handmade
fused glass pendants, earrings, cufflinks, brooches, hearts in silver, gold, pink, emerald, red, green, blue, bronze, turquoise, teal, etc.
Having spent 18 years working as a graphic designer, Sarah became frustrated with the limitations of designing on a computer, and felt the need to return to being creative three-dimensionally. A long-held fascination with glass led her to study Architectural Glass where she learnt the skills for fusing glass - the process used in making her jewellery. Each piece is individually hand-crafted at Sarah's workshop near Shrewsbury. Many are totally unique due to the unpredictable nature of the glass whilst it is in the kiln.
Dichroic glass (the colourful glass used in her jewellery) is a mixture of quartz crystals and metal oxides. Its characteristic colour shift is reminiscent of peacocks feathers or shot silk - it holds an iridescent quality. The photographs here do not do it justice - you need to see and feel it to really appreciate!
